Hierdie foto is nie van Soweto nie, dis van 'n plakkerskamp in Soweto. Winston (kontak) 17:26, 29 Maart 2011 (UTC)[antwoord]

Ek het die foto vervang met 'n effens beter een. Winston (kontak) 17:31, 29 Maart 2011 (UTC)[antwoord]
Dankie Winton :) It is true that Soweto is actually a very organised and formal settlement, just like Khayelitsha and Mdanstane. It is also embarrasing as en:Shanty town, they use a picture of "Soweto shanty town" as the first picture. As with the lokasie/township, discussion I want to stay neutral, as I don't actually know what the right term is anymore. People I know, will just say "Tembisa" or "Soweto". In fact, Soweto is more of a "city" now anyway. Bezuidenhout (kontak) 17:44, 29 Maart 2011 (UTC)[antwoord]
I just think people are not sensitive enough about words and names that most people in South Afrika find insulting. Soweto was indeed called a city before, but in 2000 it was incorporated into die City of Johanneburg. Winston (kontak) 18:07, 29 Maart 2011 (UTC)[antwoord]
You can always get away with the word "gebied" (region), which is totally neutral. But please stay away from the word "lokasie". Winston (kontak) 18:10, 29 Maart 2011 (UTC)[antwoord]
