English: Painting by Akseli Gallen-Kallela, depicting a scene from Kalevala, Finnish epic poem. Väinämöinen (the guy with the long white beard) defends the boat with the crew against the Hag of the North and her men. The witch is angry, because Väinämöinen and Ilmarinen of Kalevala stole the Sampo, a magical mill of endless prosperity, from Pohjola, her homeland. See also the page at the Turku Art Museum website.
