Is the name Saint or Sint? Most articles on wiki use Afrikaans Sint, why not this one? Ben Bezuidenhout (kontak) 15:57, 20 Augustus 2010 (UTC)[antwoord]

Sorry, what I am trying to ask is: is Sint Pierre en Miquelon not used in Afrikaans? Ben Bezuidenhout (kontak) 16:02, 20 Augustus 2010 (UTC)[antwoord]

Because Sint Perre en Miq. shows 163,000 results on Afrikaans google, while Saint-Pierre et... shows 164,000. Ben Bezuidenhout (kontak) 16:04, 20 Augustus 2010 (UTC)[antwoord]

Dear Ben, I'd use the french name, so you can move it to Sint Pierre en Miquelon, if you want. I can move it later, too. Best regards, -- JCIV (Besprekings | Bydraes) 16:34, 20 Augustus 2010 (UTC)[antwoord]
I don't want to move it anywhere, it's just that this tiny island group is so little known, that the real Afrikaans name is debatable. I would just like the opinion of more Afrikaans people and some who actually still live in South Africa haha :) Ben Bezuidenhout (kontak) 17:06, 20 Augustus 2010 (UTC)[antwoord]
My Afrikaans atlas lists it as St Pierre & Miquelon, not really very useful is it? Ben Bezuidenhout (kontak) 17:09, 20 Augustus 2010 (UTC)[antwoord]
Really, e.g. the Yoruba Wikipedia often use the english name. ;) The main thing is to have a sufficient article. :) "St Pierre & Miquelon" is afrikaans? Often I look at nl:wp to get an idea for an possible afrikaans-name, so they call it nl:Saint-Pierre en Miquelon. -- JCIV (Besprekings | Bydraes) 17:56, 20 Augustus 2010 (UTC)[antwoord]
