Lirieke
[wysig | wysig bron]Eyes so bright, so big and wide Make you feel so strange Somewhere deep inside It's the face of an angel Soul of the devil may care
How I'd love to know What goes on in there
She needs your love She needs it every day But speak of love See her laugh and run away
Julia, which way will you go Julia, I wanna know Julia, only the moon and stars Julia, know just where you are
Julia Julia Julia Julia
See the dance that needs no alibi Oh you don't need to dream When you know you can fly
She needs your love She needs it every day But speak of love See her laugh and run away
Julia, which way will you go Julia, I wanna know Julia, only the moon and stars Julia, know just where you are Julia[5]
Kritiese ontvangs
[wysig | wysig bron]Music & Media was van mening dat die liedjie die "first sensation of the [Espresso Logic] album's fine aroma" was.[6] In 'n resensie van Espresso Logic het Allen Howie van The Courier-Journal soos volg opgemerk: "Rea's most potent songs are personal, rather than political. When he's content with his lot in life, as in the sunny "Julia", there's no keeping the smile from your face."[7] Rob Caldwell van AllMusic het die liedjie beskryf as 'n "bright rhythm driven song".[2]
