Opsomming

Beskrywing
English: Donald Bradman practises his drive, 1936. Donald George Bradman, cricketer, was born on the 27 August, 1908 at Cootamundra in New South Wales and grew up in Bowral. His love for cricket saw him follow a steady rise in the game through New South Wales country, district and the State ranks that led to his first test debut against England in the first test of the 1927–28 series. At the age of 20 years he was the youngest man to have scored a test century. His dominance in batting forced the English to consider ways to control him, a tactic the Australians vilified as "bodyline". Bradman's average of 99.94 remains by far the highest by a test cricketer. In 1948 he was knighted, and in 1985 was inducted into the Australian Sports Hall of Fame. Considered by many to be the greatest batsman ever, Sir Donald Bradman died at his home in Adelaide on 25 February 2001.
