Contrast was enhanced in areas, and the image was cropped slightly to remove the frame. The image was not stretched or rotated as it was already straight. Restoration work was performed on the original TIFF file provided by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), uploaded for accessibility by NARA onto Commons.
This is a retouched picture, which means that it has been digitally altered from its original version. Modifications: Restoration (spot/scratch/stain removal, contrast).
