Modern or ancient?[wysig bron]

If this is a modern inscription, it should be noted; or of ancient, confirmed. JMK (kontak) 19:25, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[antwoord]

To get an answer You should say this at Commons. ;) Best regards, -- JCIV (Besprekings | Bydraes) 19:34, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[antwoord]
Why should it be modern? It is from Pasargadae.. Besides there are clear blemishes. Jcwf (kontak) 04:22, 13 April 2011 (UTC)[antwoord]
Just a feeling, as the lines are very straight, which reminds me of the work of someone at home in the modern age. If I compare it to Xerxes, Turkey or Behistun, one sees the same grid in the first, but not as rectangular, and the collapse and erosion of the rock is more extensive. The latter are also on cliffs, out of harm's way. A column in Pasargadae may be eroded like a column of the Parthenon maybe, or does the dry air at Pasargadae make all the difference? The tomb of Cyrus was not initially seen as such, and the Pasargadae article states that evidence is still lacking today. If these telltale inscriptions were present, I assume it was only the inability to read them that delayed identification of the tomb. JMK (kontak) 09:21, 13 April 2011 (UTC)[antwoord]
