This file illustrates the synthesis that Kealy and Pauson attempted for w:fulvalene that actually produced w:ferrocene. It was originally reported in Nature in 1951 (doi:10.1038/1681039b0) and is discussed in Pauson's 2001 retrospective on ferrocene in w:J. Organomet. Chem. (doi:10.1016/S0022-328X(01)01126-3). It is derived from the existing File:Kealy_Ferrocen_Synthese.svg uploaded in 2001 by Bert.Kilanowski and EdChem's alterntive File:Kealy and Pauson synthesis of ferrocene.jpg uploaded on 8 April 2019. It has been adapted by EdChem on 11 April 2019 from the version uploaded a few days before using Microsoft Paint, saved as a .jpg file, and uploaded for part of a discussion at w:Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Chemistry initiated by EdChem with this edit and this is the state of the discussion at the time of this upload.

The Bert.Kilanowski source file is stored on Wikimedia Commons with a w:Creative Commons CC0 1.0 Universal Public Domain Dedication license. Both the upload on 8 March 2019 and this file are being listed with a PD-Chem notice as it is in the public domain as simple chemical structures and equations and thus ineligible for copyright protections.
