Jerry Allan Fodor (1935) is ‘n filosoof aan Rutgers Universiteit, New Jersey in die VSA. Hy is die skrywer van verskeie baanbrekerboeke oor die velde van die geestesfilosofie sowel as kognitiewe wetenskap, waarin hy die grondwerk vir sienings oor die modulêriteit van die gees en die teorie van taal en van denke uiteengesit het. Fodor is ook ‘n groot voorstander van die funksionalisme. Hy is getroud met die taalkundige Janet Dean Fodor
