Beta Camelopardalis (afgekort as β Cam) is die helderste ster in die noordelike sterrebeeld Kameelperd (Camelopardalis). Met ’n skynbare magnitude van 4,02 is dit dofweg met die blote oog te sien.[3] Dit is sowat 870 ligjare van die Son af en beweeg nader teen ’n radiale snelheid van -190 km/s.[9]
Die ster is ’n G-tipe superreus van spektraaltipe G1 Ib–IIa.[1] Dit is na raming 60 miljoen jaar oud en draai met ’n spoed van sowat 11,7 km/s.[7] Dit is ’n besonder vinnige rotasiespoed vir ’n geëvolueerde ster van hierdie soort. Een moontlike verklaring is dat dit ’n nabygeleë reuseplaneet soos ’n warm Jupiter verorber het.[10]
Beta Camelopardalis se massa is 6,5[1] keer dié van die Son en dit het uitgesit tot sowat 58 sonradiusse.[5] Sy ligsterkte is 1 592 keer[6] soveel as die Son s’n en dit het ’n effektiewe temperatuur van 5 300 K.[1] Dit is ’n bron van X-strale.[11]
β Cam het twee visuele[12] metgeselle: ’n A5-tipe ster met ’n magnitude van 7 teen ’n skeidingshoek van 84 boogsekondes; en ’n ster met ’n magnitude van 12 teen 15 boogsekondes.[13]
