Die 79ste Golden Globe-toekenningsaand vir die beste rolprente en televisieprogramme van 2021,[1] soos deur die Hollywood Foreign Press Association gekies, is op 9 Januarie 2022 in Die Beverly Hills Hotel, Beverly Hills, Kalifornië, gehou.[2] Vir die eerste keer sedert die 65ste Golden Globe-toekenningsaand was daar geen tradisionele seremonie wat op TV uitgesaai is nie, ter ondersteuning van die boikot van die HFPA deur verskeie mediamaatskappye, akteurs en ander kunstenaars oor die maatskappy se gebrek aan optrede om sy lidmaatskapdiversiteit uit te brei. Die HFPA het besluit om die seremonie privaat te hou, en die resultate is met 'n nuusverklaring bekend gemaak.
Die benoemdes is op 13 Desember 2021 deur die rapper Snoop Dogg en die HFPA-president, Helen Hoehne, aangekondig.[2][3]
Die rolprente Belfast en The Power of the Dog het elk sewe benoemings gekry. Laasgenoemde, Steven Spielberg se West Side Story en die TV-drama Succession het die meeste pryse gewen (3 elk).
