Sherwin Bernard Nuland[1] (gebore as Shepsel Ber Nudelman; 8 Desember 1930 – 3 Maart 2014) was 'n Amerikaanse snydokter en skrywer wat bio-etiek, geskiedenis van medisyne, en medisyne gedoseer het by die Yale Skool van Medisyne (hy doseer ook soms ook bio-etiek en geskiedenis van medisyne by Yale-kollege). Sy 1994 boek How We Die: Reflections on Life's Final Chapter was 'n New York Times topverkoper en het die Nasionale Boekprys vir Nie-fiksie gewen,[2] en was ook 'n finalis vir die Pulitzerprys. In 2011 was die Jonathan Rhoads Gouemedalje van die Amerikaanse Filosofiese Genootskap aan Nuland toegeken vir “Uitsonderlike Diens aan Medisyne.”[3]Nuland het nie-akademiese artikels vir die The New Yorker, The New York Times, The New Republic, Time, MIT Technology Review en die New York Review of Books geskryf. Hy was 'n genoot van die Hastings Sentrum, synde 'n onafhanklike bio-etiek navorsingsinstituut.[4]Nuland het op 3 Maart 2014 by sy huis in Hamden, Connecticut aan prostaatkanker beswyk.[5]
