Die grootkophaarstert (Trichiurus lepturus) is 'n vis wat wêreldwyd voorkom in tropiese waters. Dit is die eerste keer in 1758 deur Carl Linnaeus beskryf, en daar is heelparty ander spesies in die genus Trichiurus.^[1] In Engels staan die vis bekend as die Largehead hairtail, 'n onderdeel van die Cutlass fishes.
