Australopithecus bahrelghazali is hominienfossiele wat in 1995[1] deur die paleontoloog Michel Brunet in Tsjad ontdek is. Brunet het dit "Abel" gedoop. Die wetenskaplike naam is KT-12/H1.

Die fossiele is sowat 3,6 miljoen jaar oud[2] en bestaan uit verskeie stukke kakebene en tande.

Die onderkaak toon ooreenkomste met die gebit van Australopithecus afarensis; dit laat sommige wetenskaplikes glo dit is nie ’n aparte spesie nie, maar behoort tot A. afarensis.
