Die spesie is inheems aan Angola, Botswana, Burundi, Demokratiese Republiek die Kongo, Djiboeti, Egipte, Eritrea, Eswatini, Ethiopië, Golf State, Jemen, Kenia, Lesotho, Malawi, Mosambiek, Namibië, Oman, Saoedi-Arabië, Soedan, Somalië, Suid-Afrika, Tanzanië, Uganda, Zambië en Zimbabwe. In Suid-Afrika kom die plant in Mpumalanga, Noordwes en die Vrystaat voor.
