Judith Butler (Cleveland, Ohio, 24 Februarie 1956) is 'n Amerikaanse filosoof en lesbiese feminis.

Sy is 'n professor in retoriek en vergelykende literatuur aan die Berkeley Universiteit. Sy is 'n ondersteuner van dekonstruksie. Sy het bekend geword weens haar twee boeke oor geslag (Gender trouble en Bodies that matter) en hoe ons (idees en gevoelens oor) liggame beheer word deur geslag as 'n samelewingsorganiserende beginsel. Bodies that matter, word beskou as 'n besonder moeilike boek. Die hoofoorsaak hiervan is volgens Butler se kritici haar uiters ondeursigtige taalgebruik. Sy self beskou hierdie taalgebruik as nodig om uit te druk wat sy moet sê. Die kern idee is "performativity". Jy leer geslag deur te "doen" en deur voortdurende herhaling, wat lei tot inprenting. Dit sorg egter ook dat nie alle liggame en geslagsuitdrukkings tel nie, verduidelik Butler met verwysing na onder andere die psigoanalise.
